The Things I Carry: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm

Burt’s Bees is the Bee’s Knees

What? Have you youngsters never heard the phrase, “the bee’s knees”? It means that Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm is awesome. Not only did I give this tiny titan a shoutout in my 2018 Favorites, but it’s also still in my bedroom nightstand.

As I mentioned in my introductory post for this series, The Things I Carry, these short posts will be discussing the items I have kept on my Minimalist Adventure. You can consider this an informal review of sorts and if you need something that’s hydrating and doubles as a lip stick, then awesome, this is for you!

What I love about Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

  • It’s cheap- I bought it at my local Walgreens and it didn’t break the bank.

  • It’s small- It fits on one of the dividers in my nightstand drawer and doesn’t take a lot of room. It also is small enough to be portable whenever I want to take it with me to the city.

  • It’s tinted lip balm- Who needs to have lipstick when I can hydrate and add a small pop of color to my lips at the same time? I love how I can quickly put this on my lips in the morning and then run out of the house.

  • It hydrates… a lot- Whenever I use this, my lips feel mega mega smooth, soft, and hydrated. I’m the kind of person who barely drinks enough water throughout the day so my chapped lips love it when I use this.

  • It’s made in USA- In this day and age where everything is imported from other countries, it’s nice being able to make purchases that support the country I live in.

  • It’s natural- Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm claims to be 100% Natural. At face value, I love this fact, though in all honesty, I’m not 100% sure whether or not this statement on the lip balm wrapper is true.

What doesn’t work about Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

  • It’s barely noticeable- On one hand, I like the natural look, on the other hand, I have relatives who complain that I should wear more ‘bold’ lip colors.

  • It doesn’t taste great- Not that I’m encouraging to eat/lick lip products, but I like the minty smelling/tasting lip glosses and wish that this one had some kind of ‘flavor’ to it.

Other Thoughts about Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

Overall, I think Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm is a great product. It’s cheap to try out and incorporate into your beauty routine, it’s made with natural products such as shea butter, and it’s a 2-in-1 product that hydrates and styles.

I definitely would recommend this for people who aren’t heavy into makeup and just want something simple and quick to hydrate your lips with. It provides a very natural look for you in the morning and it provides moisture, what more can you want?

What lip balm or lip products do you use?

As someone who is trying to cut down on the amount of things I own and making sure I own high-quality products, I am always on the look-out for greener or higher quality alternatives to the things I own. It’ll still be a while until I finish up my lip balm, but I’d love to hear your recommendations!
